Basic Care For Your Childs Hair
Finding the right
hair style is definitely an important component in the care of your child's hair. However, what is of equal importance
is finding a style that is also practical. The way to test the practicality of a style is to ask yourself, how "wash
and wear" is it?
I find that typically for girls the shorter hairstyles are easier to manage, especially for the
little ones (1 year
to 5 years of age). In this way you are not having to spend your morning combing through it every
day.
In choosing a good hair shampoo, always go for the milder ones preferably "tearless". Also,
look for one that you think will appeal to your child, such as a colorful, or child appealing packaged product. The point
here is to make the shampooing experience as fun as possible. Other suggestions in helping create a good experience
for the child in the hair care process, is to involve them. Indeed, have them practice combing their own hair. In this way
you are giving them control over the situation. Also, it will help you out when they are able to do a little bit themselves.
All in all, by presenting these various tasks as fun, and giving your child a little control, the hair care experience will
get better and better every day.
